Free Parking in Las Vegas: 11 Places
You’ve rented a car for a glorious weekend in Las Vegas with your friends and family members! You’ve reserved a hotel room, bought some tickets for some great shows, and even brought your best suit for the occasion. But there’s just one problem; you need to figure out where you can find free parking for your rental car.
This can be pretty tricky in Las Vegas given that most parking lots require payment of either cash or credit. Because Las Vegas is such a tourist-packed city, the police aren’t very generous to folks who park their cars on the street or in places where parking is not allowed.
So, are there free parking spots in Las Vegas? Turns out, there are—let us break down 11 of the best places to find free parking in Vegas so you can enjoy your vacation to the fullest.
Treasure Island’s Parking Lot
The hotel and casino Treasure Island is one of the most famous attractions on the entire Las Vegas Strip, offering entertainment for the whole family. More importantly, parking is totally free in his famous casino’s main parking lot, although private parking spaces and valet parking do cost quite a bit.
If you reserve a room at this hotel, you may get parking for free as a special deal with your room reservation. Otherwise, you can park your car even if you have reserved a room at another hotel for at least a couple of hours.
The START Hotel is another popular hotel located on the Las Vegas Strip. Unlike most other hotels with free self-parking, you can find both free self-parking and free valet parking 24/7. This might be due to the fact that the hotel includes access to an attraction called the Skypod, which draws tourists from around the Strip, not just guests from START’s own hotel rooms.
Wynn Las Vegas
The Wynn Hotel at Las Vegas also has free parking both for its customers and for general visitors. This is one of the most popular hotels along the Strip and it’s close to the north end of the heart of Vegas.
While valet parking does incur a small charge, you can self-park in the hotel parking lot for free. This is a great place to find free parking for a couple of hours even if you aren’t a Wynn customer since it’s relatively secure and the parking lot is monitored by both security guards and cameras 24/7.
Sahara Las Vegas
Formerly called SLS, Sahara Las Vegas is another resort that offers free parking to Vegas residents and tourists alike. Valet parking does cost, but self-parking is totally free throughout the day and you don’t have to be a hotel guest in order to park your car here for a few hours.
Circus Circus is yet another Vegas resort that offers free parking slots for most guests. This doesn’t count for valet parking, of course, but self-parking is totally free and there aren’t any indications that this will change in the near future.
Caesars Hotels (Technically)
You can find free parking at any of the hotels included under the Caesars Entertainment umbrella… provided you’re a guest of the associated hotels. This naturally only includes self-parking rather than valet parking. The eight hotels with this free self-parking offer include:
- Caesars Palace
- Paris Las Vegas
- Planet Hollywood
- The Cromwell
- Linq Hotel
The Shops at Crystals
Crystals is one of the most famous shopping centers in Las Vegas overall. As an upscale collection of specialty stores and boutiques, and nestled in between the Cosmopolitan and Aria, Crystals is a great place to enjoy Las Vegas if you’re primarily visiting for the shopping experiences rather than concerts or other events.
Interestingly, free self-parking is a no-go in this area. But there is free valet parking, possibly because the attendants try to prevent crowding or chaotic exits at the end of each business day. Speaking of which, valet parking hours are between 10 AM and 10 PM throughout the week, so plan your Vegas trip accordingly if you want to take advantage of free parking here.
The Stratosphere is a Las Vegas casino that’s located on its own little piece of Las Vegas. While it’s close to and technically part of the Strip, it has its own dedicated lot, which might be why they offer free self-parking and free valet parking for all guests and visitors (even those that aren’t guests of the attached hotel). Even better, the free valet parking sometimes comes with perks, like cleaning to remove windshield streaks!
If you have an oversized vehicle, you can find free parking for that rental vehicle across the street from the main parking lot.
Then there’s Planet Hollywood, which is located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip and which offers free self-parking and charged valet parking. This is a great parking spot if you want to jump into Las Vegas excitement as soon as you arrive without having to walk for 20 minutes or more before you reach your destination or favor casino.
Venetian + Palazzo
Both the Venetian and the Palazzo alike offer free parking on the Las Vegas Strip. The former is one of the largest resorts in the area, so odds are you’ll be able to find at least a couple of free parking spaces even on very busy days in Vegas.
The Palazzo’s parking lot isn’t quite as expansive, though it’s often improved by live music and other amenities that make it a great place to park your car if you’re taking a day trip to Vegas rather than spending a long weekend. You could begin and end your time in Vegas with a concert near the parking lot if you’re lucky!
Tropicana Las Vegas
Last but not least, you can visit the southern end of the Strip and park at the Tropicana lot. You’ll appreciate that both valet parking and self-parking are free provided that there isn’t a current event going on at the nearby T-Mobile Arena.
If there is an event going on, parking is always charged unless you are a guest of the Tropicana itself. Still, given that events don’t occur most days of the year, on any random day you’re likely to find free parking here unless you are extraordinarily unlucky.
As you can see, there are lots of places to find free parking in Vegas, provided you’re willing to do a little research and plan out your trip before hitting the road. Make sure to consider just how large your rental car is when deciding where to park; some lots may have free spots for oversized vehicles while others may only be suitable for regular-sized cars.
